Gary Sargeant + Company scoops Sage Practice of the Year Award
On 21st July 2010, we were delighted to win the Sage Practice of the year Award 2010 which was presented at Sage’s first ever Accountant Awards held at the British Museum in London.
On presenting the award, Jayne Archbold, Managing Director, Sage Accountants Division, stated, “We’re committed to providing our 14,000 accountant customers with the knowledge and support that they need for their business and I’m delighted to present this award to Gary Sargeant + Company. Accountants are really important to British Industry and it’s great to see them doing so well this year.”
She continued: “The winner of this award was nominated by their clients. They really do go the extra mile and their clients tell us that their people are outstanding; they are approachable, friendly and pragmatic. Their audit team are exceptional, they’ve supported their clients through restructure, acquisitions, system changes, provide advice to help businesses of all different sizes and all tell the same story – they’re instrumental to their business”.
The Sage Accountants awards are designed to celebrate and recognise the achievements of accountants in practice and the contribution they make to UK businesses.
The awards were presented at Sage’s annual Connect conference for accountants and were hosted by Nick Hewer from BBC TV’s The Apprentice and Jane Archbold, Managing Director of Sage Accountants' Division. Judged by a panel of independent industry experts and Sage senior management, the awards consist of 12 categories designed to enable participation by individuals and practices of all sizes. We won the 2-5 partner category.
When asked about the award, Gary Sargeant, the managing partner, commented “We have grown from a small business to a large organisation servicing largely local and Kent based businesses. We have as a firm always been dedicated to a high level of customer service, a ‘will do’ attitude and proactivity. To have our clients endorse this and to receive national recognition makes us all extremely proud. I was also pleased that my Partner Elaine Beal, who is our in-house Sage Expert was asked to receive this award on our behalf.”
